Question:
Eugh My Skin.....
Right I have been using the LE products since Christmas.
Im using Clinique Superbalanced foundation on my skin and it appears just to be sitting on top of my skin and not being absorbed and it's giving me a grubby and badly made up look! Plus my skin is VERY dry!
I hate it!
Any ideas what I can do here? or whats causing it?
Thanks girls

Hi PrincessNYC
What LE products are you using?

To the best of my knowledge, foundation isn't supposed to soak into your skin like moisturiser. You mention it "floating" on top of your skin. Perhaps your using too much? Need to switch brands or the type of foundation? I have somewhat dry facial skin and a very light liquid foundation works best for me.
I'm finding my skin is very dry in different areas, not just my face. I put it down to the constantly changing temps outdoors combined with dry air indoors. Extra water and moisturiser helps. Avoid hot water baths/showers as it can make the dryness worse.
What were you using for skin care before the Liz Earle? Frankly, I don't find that brand to be anything special. Perhaps the ones your using aren't helping matters?
Im using C&P skin tonic and moisturiser for normal/combination skin - which is what I am normally.
I use different skin care all the time until I started with LE, I was never satisfied with anything.
I know Im not using too much, Im using only a small amount.
I used to use superbalanced foundation. It's supposed to moisturise the oily parts and soak up oily bits isn't it. I found that it soaked up oil too well though at times. So it could look drying.
Maybe it's just too drying on your flaky skin. Maybe switch to a more moisturising one. I use givenchy sublimine foundation. I've raved about it on here before but I just love it. I have combination skin, yet it keeps my dry skin nice and soft without flaking off. Yet it is long lasting and doesn't wear off on oily parts or congest my skin and make me breakout.
Also, I get flaky, dry bits right on the side of my cheek and elisabeth arden eight hour cream works wonders on them. I never thought I would hear myself say this. As I've always thought of it as overpriced vaseline and found it just sat on top of my skin and looked greasy. Since my cheeks have become very dry though. I've found that if I use just a thin layer so it does sink in, that it works like nothing else.
