Question:
How do you thik you would have 'coped' with the beauty products of yester-year?
I was just thinking,
I love all our modern beauty products; the choices we have of textures/colours the wide range of products available etc... and I thought how strange it would be if I was suddenly transported back to another period of time and had to make do with what was available back than.
For instance, would you be able to work the 40s glamour look? Or would you be pining for your highlighter and juicy tubes?
Or, shock horror, what about even further back? The victorian era?
I think the best they had was kohl and rouge?
What would you do?
Well the packaging was a lot nicer in days gone by! I have a small(ish!) collection of old perfume bottles, lipstick holders, compacts etc. Makes todays plastic stuff look very sad.
there's a lot to be said for "old" products though. I've yet to find a better cleanser than Ponds Cold Cream and the Olay range of moisturisers are hard to beat.
I'm sure we'd all find a few Holy Grail products if we were transported back in time. I've heard people moaning on here (me included!) that the best products always get discontinued. So who knows what we missed out on from a bygone age?
