Question:
mixing brands
Hi everyone, firstly Im new to this forum and Im loving it.I've got so many good tips just by reading back thru the posts.
Anyway,my question is..is it ok to mix different brands of product? For example Im currantly using garnier face creams,a loreal serum and No7 cleanser and toner.I tend to buy things when theyre on special offer so I really do mix and match.Had a bargain today, got a Roc serum for £7 in Hughes..its over £25 in Boots! Was well chuffed LOL :yay:
Hi almost40! There's nothing wrong with mixing and matching brands, I do it loads! Sometimes I like having all my skincare matching because it looks nice but I think it's better that each product you use works for you and if that means they're different brands then that's fine!
Hi almost40, welcome to the Bag!
I usually never 'match' my products, and never felt that I need to do so. Just pick what you like for each and you will be OK.
I used to buy Clinique Oil Free Moisturiser and Toner, but realised I could not go on so I switched toner to Nivea one. Nothing wrong happened.
Yep, I think it's actually pretty impractical for skincare companies to expect people to do this anyway.I find it hard enough finding one product to suit me let alone a whole range.
All skincare ranges say they are best used in conjunction with the brands other products. Quite often they give some sort of reason as well. I think that has alot more to do with them trying to sell it to you rather than there being any truth in it though.
I don't think I've ever used a whole skincare range. Except maybe clinique 3 step. If that's an advertisement for using a whole skincare range though, I'd rather not. :)
Hie
I mix everything up! Queen of it! Cleanser & toner-dermalogica. Serum, moisturizer, eye gel - olay total effects. Sunscreen - dior. Night cream - Olay Regenerist. As long as it works, I don't think it matters :)
Oh, and welcome to HB!
