Question:
Signing up with U.S. Ebay?
I bought something from US Ebay last week, but I wondered do UK Ebay users actually have to register with US ebay?
I know of you buy from the American EBay, and I was curious whether you'd signed up with it, or simply picked the American things that came up when searching for a product on UK ebay (as I did last week with my cherry carmex).
I'm tempted to buy more from America on Ebay as the exchange rate is so good  I just get a bit confused seeing things in $ dollar signs
I normally go through the UK site, that way you can see the price in £ under the price in $. If you put something on your watch list it displays the price of postage in £ too.
If you go straight onto the US site you only get the prices in $ and that's when it gets confusing for me. I sometimes use this site, which is a free currency conversion site if I get stuck.

U.S Ebay is king, I picked up a Mac #187 stippling brush this morning for just under £15 including all the postage costs! :)
I also use xe.com for converting money into English.
It never even occurred to me to purchase things from US Ebay! What a great idea, thanks girls

Thanks so much for this Hols!
I think I'll continue to just get things off the US site via the UK one....I still like to see the reassuring little £ signs :D Because I know where I am with them
The only thing I would say about it is..
Be prepared for your goodies to take maybe two weeks to get here.
Don't spend more than £18 and see if they will label your parcel as a Gift. I think £18 is the cut off point before you're slapped with customs charges and fees.
I'm not too worried about anything going missing in the post, you know with it being such a long way for it to travel. Paypal is pretty good with international orders and usually refunds your money pretty promptly in my experience.
It's only concerning the UK purchases that they seem to have their heads in the sand!
