Question:
tightness after cleansing
hi i usually use either:
clinique gentle foaming cleanser
Environ gel cleanser (it foams)
or Dove sensitive soap.
Usually i dont have any trouble (ie dryness or breakouts) fromthe above but at the moment i have very dry tight patches and in other areas i have breakouts.
could it be that i should stop using foaming cleansers? or do you think my skin just doesnt get on with my usual products during my period? its gone so strange at the moment and also my chest is breaking out too.
pls help:(
I had this exact same thing. My cheeks were dry and quite itchy with raised red areas which I thought were spots but turned out to be dermatitis.
My nose and forehead though were a bit oily. The dermatologist I saw told me to avoid foaming cleansers at all costs and to apply a heavy moisturiser to my cheeks and a light one to my t-zone. Since doing this, any tightness I used to feel after washing my face has gone and my face is pretty clear again with no spots:)
I use Garnier Pure Pore cleansing gel and alternate with No.7 beautiful balance cleansing gel, then use no.7 amazingly rich night cream on my cheeks at night. During the day I use the day cream version on my cheeks of no.7 and Garnier Pure A on my T-zone.
My face is almost normal again :)
thanks for replying! its interesting what you say, i will try a routine like that then.
its a shame as i have always preferred the feel of wash off cleansers as with wipe off i worry i havent got all the dirt out with it.
i think i have used that garnier one before, when my skin was better behaved! i will probably try that again or a natural cleanser.
anyone else get this problem? i also think my cold and hormones are causing havoc with my skin.
