Who works with make up?
Question:

Who works with make up?
And what scary tales have you to tell us all :D
A girl came into work on Friday and asked me to match foundation for her. I took in the orange face, blue eyeshadow and frosted pink lipstick... the foundation smeared all over her white jumper and coat and silently pointed to a shade number 6... and she asked if I had anything darker as she was feeling pale recently :faint:

Hahah!!
I had a lady come in the other day. She has what looked like toothpaste smeared all over her eyebrows and across her face.
She wanted me to try out a concealer for her chin???!! Wasn't too sure what the chin thing was about until I started putting the correct concealer on (no.3 Boi-ing as she was an asian lady so this was the perfect colour for her) and then I saw she had lots of facial hair on her chin which she had shaved off and I think she wanted to cover that up. (I could have been wrong though and btw, the concealer wouldn't cover it at all!)
After she looked at herself in the mirror, she told me it was too dark when it matched her skin perfectly. She wanted the lightest colour concealer - I had to make her look white... Right okay... (couldn't understand why it was only the chin though)
I was   big time!! I was ranting on about how concealer should match your skin tone, but I don't think she understood. She just kept telling me 'I want it lighter'.
I put this concealer on her chin and she looked hideous! I dread to think what people thought as they walked past. Luckily she left shortly after but it was a very strange experience! :cmeek:
I'm sure i've got a few more but can't think at the moment.

When I worked for The Body Shop, a girl came in asking for help in choosing a foundation. Her natural colour was a medium tan (well her arms, neck, ears etc were) but her face was a pale white colour.
She picked up a Number 2 shade of foundation and asked (and these are her words) ''Will this look too Ghosty Ghosty on me?'' I said blatantly ''Yes, it will have the same unnatural pale effect that the makeup you are wearing now does'' I told her to try a Number 4 shade, which would have been a good match to her natural skintone, but she said that that would make her ''too dark''. I was like ''no, this will make you look natural and makeup-less'' but she bought the 'Ghosty Ghosty' shade 2 anyway.
I dont know why she even asked for my help:confused:
Also, I will never forget the day a customer came in and opened the Blue Corn scrub face mask ,(yes it was pale blue!!) scooped out a handful and rubbed it all over her face, sat there on the display cabinet for 5 minutes, before wiping it off with a tissue and walking out:eek:

I've had customers do things like that!
The other day a lady came in and spent ages trying all the make up on, had two of us running around after her, kept asking if we had more shades of eyeshadow in the back (wtf?!) then when I put it all through the till she looked like she had seen a ghost and promptly put everything bar two items back and declared that she had gone over her budget!
For everything she had picked, each item would have had to be a pound for it to be under budget! Idiot!
