Question:
Make up bag essentials
What are your make up bag essentials? I'm stuck in a rut with my make up and want to buy some new products to update it. I have fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. I currently just use foundation/tinted moisturiser and lip gloss.
What products can I buy and what colours would suit me to update my look
Thanks
With your colouring you could go for a whole range of eyeshadow colours for different looks depending on what you are wearing.
Most likely things like plums, silvery, beiges, dark pinks, purple and even blue and greeny colours would suit your eyes.
Def. some eyeliner or dark shadows for lining with for smokey looks.
Different lippy for different looks, same for blush
For instance with a pale face bronzer like Prescriptives Pressed leaves, a long lash defining mascara and a melon, pale pink or peachy lipgloss you can have that fresh faced beach day look
or
With a deeper blush on the cheeks such as warm peach or pink, three tier eyeshadow such as a cream base, pinky centre and plummy lash line with a striking black eye liner and mascara then a deep plum or red lippy can give you a wow factor evening look.
There are so many things you can go for, it depends if you want to just build a base of essentials or have loads to choose from for a variety of looks.
You might look at some of the kits from the various companies on QVC which usually give you a few colour choices to create a few looks from.
SmashBox and Models Prefer are my too favourite on there.
thanks some good ideas, I'm just clueless! Have had a look on qvc and they have some nice sets. Think I just need to buy a nice set with a range of colours
Its a good place to start testing because you can return it used within 30days so no real harm done to the wallet.
You might also try trolling the make-up counters and trying different things that strike your fancy or get a proper make-over from an assitant. Don't feel obligated to buy anything as its always best to wear something around for the day and check yourself in different lighting to see if it really suits you.
I am fair, blonde and have got blue (grey) eyes like you.
I use tinted moisturiser and mineral foundation (as I need the coverage) with mineral non shimmer bronzer. Natural Collection Mascara is fab and I have got several eye liner pencils in bright blues, greens and purples thaht I use as well. I don't really use eye shadow at all as I have no idea how to apply it properly...Oh and Burts bees lipbalm and Miss Sporty Lipstick
