Question:
Hairdressers in London
Hi
I guess this is sort of beauty related? - The Hair forum doesn't seem to be read by as many people...
To London based baggers can you please recommend me a hairdressers/stylist?
Thank you!
I go to a great one in Soho. PM me if you want the details.
Thank you will PM you! I went to one in Mayfair in July when i first moved to London (had a 50% off voucher from Harper's Bazaar) it was great but too expensive even with the 50% off!!
Cobella hairdressers in Selfridges, 3rd floor (Oxford St). The highest ranked stylist is called Jason and he is absolutely brilliant. I have had some nightmare hairdressors (who cost me a bomb!) but he really does know what he is doing. I work there so I recieved what should of cost me £90 for £45-what I expect to pay elsewhere with a sh*t stylist. Obviously, thats a bonus, but if you can afford it, why not. Otherwise, why not try the other stylists.
Essential Maintenance- Southwark. AVOID!!!
I can't describe the crime they did to my hair.
I got there on a Monday, after a nice walk from Waterloo to the Tate Modern. The hairdressers is very visible, as it is at the bottom of the OXO tower building, where the path narrows. There is an art gallery next to it, I believe.
This Australian girl who did my hair, nervous and like in a hurry, couldn't look more careless. She just started talking to me like an automat "have you just came from work?" "any nice plans for the weekend?" and the like, in a soft languid voice, not even looking me in the eyes. She clearly said that what I was asking for "would not be a problem at all", and why should it? Even a 5£ per cut hairdressers can trim a bit while preserving the shape of my REALLY SHORT HAIR!!
She was there standing and rolling out what I guess it's her 'pre-recorded' conversation for customers, not even paying attention to my questions about her bloody holidays, for which I actually couldn't care less.
After 3/4 minutes of quick talking she said that the work was done and she went to talk to the next customer, an elder women who was waiting impatiently.
When I saw the result, I couldn't believe my eyes... My friends were very impressed that someone could ask for any money at all for what she did. Her mates instead, agreed that my haircut was very acceptable, and therefore I should pay the £35 it costed!!!
I hope that she gets lost in one of her planned trips with her many fellow travellers, given that her victims are paying for them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had much better haircuts with a hairclipper on my own (which is what I had to do at my place one that same night)
I can't believe that this place charges what they do. The 84 years old barber o my hometown in Spain could make a ten times 'cooler' haircut. At least, he could do it without uneven hair areas and 'council-flat-like' look. I looked like a hooligan...
