Question:
earrings
ive posted a few times about this over the last few months in a couple of different rooms on the forum...
i got my ears pierced back in august and im still having trouble :boohoo:
its really wierd, they can heal up fine and i can push them forwards backwards twist them whatever and then the next day suddenly one will be all sore again, by the time that one heals the other ones sore!
whats going on?!
theres definitely scabs because i can pull them off but i think theres also skin growing and at the moment one of them is constantly weeping (as my dad would put it!)
what can i do?
to be honest im flippin tempted to take them out and just let them heal over!!
I've always had problems with my ear piercings, ever since I first had them done 21 years ago (yes I'm THAT old ;) ).
Even if I keep them clean, they still get sore and a bit nasty looking. I must have had them pierced 2-3 times now, and have just abour given up with them. I very rarely wear earrings as they become so sore. I'm going to try again this week so I can hopefully wear some for Christmas parties.
You could always try going back to the place you had them pierced to see if they can offer any advice. Hope you get it sorted babe.
I had this trouble, too. It took almost a year until mine finally healed enough to be able to wear earrings without trouble. Then, a few years later & had my second holes done. They healed up no problem but If I don't wear earrings for a few weeks, they seal themselves up so I have trouble getting anything in again. Then the whole thing starts again .
I gave up with the tea tree oil/savlon/salt-water route & went to the docs. He gave me an anti-biotic cream which did the trick overnight. Maybe you should both take a trip to your docs?
Oh, and cheap earrings almost always set them off - especially the ones with the bronzey-coloured hooks.
If you can get hold of it, try and get a liquid soap called Provon. I had it when I had an..erm..."intimate" piercing done and it healed really fast. I had the piercing done at Cold Steel in Camden (anyone in the London area thinking of getting a piercing - I urge you..go there!) and they gave me this to use while it was healing - works a treat. I think you can probably buy it online from http://www.coldsteel.co.uk
I had my ears pierced the first time when i was about 7 or 8 they didn't heal properly so i let them close up i had them done again when i was about 10 and it hurt to twist them, but i kept it up also cleaning them with surgical spirit, it stung like hell but it helped them heal.
when i had my 2nd and 3rd piercings done whenever they were giving me trouble i used the surgical spirit and that seemed to sort them out.
