Question:
spots turning into coldsores
Good morning baggers...bit of a weird one, and its probably just me, but i thouhgt id check. A few times now, iv had a spot on my chin (which iv naughtily squeezed) and its turned into a huge coldsore. I know coldsores are caused by the hepres simplex virus, but i didnt think they could be contracted by picking a spot. Can anyone shed any light on this.
One more thing.....my boyf is visiting on Friday and we havnt seen each other for 7 weeks so obviously i wanna look my best.....but whats the betting that i get a huge breakout before he arrives. Bloody typical isnt it.

Very early-stage cold sores can look like spots can't they? Do you think they could have been cold sores all along and you maybe just aggravated them by picking and squeezing? From now on I would leave all blemishes in that area alone...
Not sure exactly what it is or how to help, but I can tell you that my friend had something similar to this and (not to scare you or anything!! but...) whenever she touched it, it spread like mad all over her face! There is a special name for it I think. Each time she got it though she had to go on antibiotics. She also had to be really careful about using towels etc because nobody could come into contact with anything that had touched her face.
I'd go and see your doctor really before you bf gets back and get it sorted out. Good luck!

There is a special name for it I think. Each time she got it though she had to go on antibiotics. She also had to be really careful about using towels etc because nobody could come into contact with anything that had touched her face.
I'd go and see your doctor really before you bf gets back and get it sorted out. Good luck!
That sounds like impitigo - it's more like blisters than spots. But yeah, it's nasty and weepy and then crusty like a coldsore :)

I'm 99% sure it wasn't impitigo - it was definitely started by a coldsore from her lip and spread from there. Will have to send her a text to ask her otherwise it will bug me not knowing!!
