I've chucked my studio finish concealer
Question:

I've chucked my studio finish concealer
It just didn't do anything for me! The colour looked odd and it looked dry and flakey after a couple of hours after buying it :(
Little did I know I chucked it with a magazine!
Are the other mac concealers any good for drier skin?

I have the liquid moisture cover concealer and I find that it doesnt give good coverage. I was going to give the studio finish one a go! Im currently using benefit bo-ing concealer which Im quite impressed with. It doesnt dry out the under eye area and its effective at hiding dark circles and fines lines.

I use it all the time and it's the best concealer I've ever used. It gives the best coverage and lasts the longest.
Because of that I guess it has to be quite thick and dry. Most other concealers just melt off.
I agree because of this it's not the best on dry patches of skin though. If the area of skin I'm using it on is dry I do have to apply a primer/serum or a moisturiser to help it blend in. A concealer brush helps even more and I prefer to use a bit of moisturiser underneath and apply with a brush than change the concealer though. Just because even thought it is drying, In my opinion that's because it's one of the best for lasting. Like I said I'd rather it be a bit drying which I can do something about than have my concealer slip off after an hour or so.
To find one that's got the perfect balance of moisture and coverage would be great though. I've heard the laura mercier and the bobbi brown concealer is very good. Also bo- ing by Benefit. Is it any good for covering blemishes Carina?
Getting the shade right is so important with concealer though. If it's the wrong shade it will just draw attention to what you're trying to cover up. I wouldn't really put that down to the concealer though. You could have the best concealer in the world but if it's the wrong shade then it won't do anything in my opinion. I would blame the Mac assistant if it was one of them that told you which shade to get. They've quite often advised me to get a shade which was completely wrong for me . If I wasn't happy with the shade I would have returned it. I don't trust those Mac assistants with foundation/concealer shades ;)

I havent tried bo-ing on blemishes yet OC. Rather annoyingly I have a small pimple so I will test out the concealer tomorrow! It is very good for dark circles though. With it being only available in 3 shades I never even considered to go check out this concealer but it was included with one of the palettes I bought and I have to say it has majorily impressed me! It blends easily and gives good coverage.

I bought Studio Finish on Wednesday and can't say i was majorly impressed with it either.
Before i bought this i was using Benefit Boi-Ing too, which i got in the realness of concealness palette. I definitely think this is a better product both for covering dark circles and blemishes. so i wish i had have bought a full size Boi-ing.
I still have some ooh la lift (a light reflecting de puffer) left over from my Benefit palette, i have been applying a bit of this to the under eye area and then putting the studio finish on top. the result is much better. so i guess it would be an idea for you to maybe mix the studio finish with some eye cream.
hope that helps x x
