Help on Nail Care/Products!
Question:

Help on Nail Care/Products!
I have been having Calgel put on my natural nails for around 4-5 months now but the last few times I have had it done it has started peeling off/coming away from my natural nail around my tips within a couple of days.
I have decided that now, I'm just going to leave my nails and not have it done anytime soon but the problem is that they break and chip so easily. All I will have to do is pull my trousers up and one will break!!
What I am after is some products which people can recommend to me that will actually work to help strengthen my nails & stop them from breaking. I really don't know where to start because there’s so many brands available and I have wasted money before trying things that don't work.
I was talking to someone the other day and they said that cuticle oil and good hand creams are better at nourishing and strengthening your nails that any of these polish type things. Is this true?

Answers:

Hand creams and cuticles will nourish the nail bed, meaning that new nail growth is in better condition. It will obviously take time for the new healthier nails to grow through though.
In the mean time, I would keep your nails as short as possible and use a strengthening product like OPI nail envy to stop your nails from peeling and flaking. Try and use rubber gloves whenever possible to keep your nails dry. And start using hand cream and cuticle to help get future nail growth as healthy as possible.
