Question:
Argh - Spots!!! Plz recommend a facial wash!
Ive been using Freederm since it came out and no problems with it - it cleared up my spots pretty quickly until now :(
for the past few weeks ive had so many spots and its really getting me down. the thing is they aren't just on my face, they're on my sholders/back too which ive never had before.
i always reccommended Freederm to everyone that asked but its doing nothing anymore - can anyone recommend anything? i have senstive skin too
thanks! PL x
I have started using the dermalogica dermal clay cleanser and find that it leaves my skin feeling very fresh and my skin does not seem to be getting so geasy during the day either, so less spots. If you fork out on a dermalogica facial, you can get the cheap one for £16, you get samples of stuff, and you can usually go back and ask for more, so this may be a way to find out if you like it before forking out for it.
Dermalogica cleansers are great, especially for problem skin. I use the special cleansing gel and the dermal clay cleanser alternately. They work the best out of all the cleansers I've tried, and I've tried just about everything, cheap and expensive and they control my skin best. They haven't cleared my spots though. I see them more as keeping the spots under control without being too harsh like some products for problem skin.
What has cleared my spots almost completely and made a massive improvement to my skin though is a product from Boots called Boots skin clear deep cleansing lotion. It has glycolic acid in it which is great for spotty skin. It's called a lotion but it's in a water form and looks like a toner not a cleanser, it cleans your skin like a cleanser though which a toner doesn't. I still prefer to use my dermalogica cleanser first though and then use the skin wash afterwards the way I would a toner. For the first week I used it my skin appeared to get worse and was quite red and irritated. So much that I was just going to give up using it. Then my skin just started to improve and now it's massively improved. When I started using it I got spots all over my forehead, nose and the side of my cheeks by my nose. Now I have no spots at all in those areas. I was quite sceptical about using this as I thought it would be quite harsh but once my skin got used to it, it's fine and actually leaves my skin incredibly smooth and soft due to the glycolic acid exfoliating.
I've tried so many products for problem skin. I've used decleor, clarins, dermalogica, Liz earle, clinique and loads of others including probably everything available on the high street. This is the only thing which has made a significant difference to the spots and better than that has actually got rid of them. The best thing is though is that it only costs £1.99 a bottle.
:) :)
thanks girls - thats great. will check out the Dermalogica items and im off to Boots this afternoon so will pick up their lotion.
thanks again! PL x
Hiya. With your back, perhaps it might be you've spread infection to it from your face. Perhaps in bed or by putting your body moisuriser on after your face? I had this prob a couple of years ago and finally got a cream from the doctor (fusidin)which cleared it up immediately and no trouble since
