Mineral Makeup - Lily Lilo
Question:

Mineral Makeup - Lily Lilo
  Hi all,
After reading some previous posts I decided to order the samples of the above.
I'm so excited as they have just arrived and I just wondered if anyone had any tips for putting it on?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm always reccing Lily Lolo on here so I'd be happy to help! :)
I assume since you've just ordered samples so far, you haven't purchased a kabuki brush? If you haven't then a blusher brush will work fine while you're just testing them out. You dab the brush into the pot, swirl it around in the lid so that the brush is covered evenly with the powder, tap the base of the brush on the back of your hand or a hard surface (this makes the powder settle into the brush & stops it from going everywhere!) & then swirl the brush on your face in circular movements. You'll be amazed how little you actually need & even when you think there isn't any powder on the brush, there usually still is!
As you've got samples pots, you won't be able to swirl the brush round the lid so try using the lid of something else. If you haven't got anything suitable, you could always just dab little spots of it over your face to get it off the brush & the buff it in afterwards?
If you get on well with it you just HAVE to get a kabuki brush! :D You can really tell the difference between using a synthetic brush & a kabuki. It gives the foundation such a great finish & blends more easily too as it's so soft.
I hope this helps but if you have any more question don't hesitate to ask. :)

P.S. I know I used the explanation of how to apply it on a different thread but I thought it'd be easier than typing it all out again!

I'm a convert as well - have been getting loads of compliments since I bought it but didn't realise quite what a difference it made until I saw photographs of me recently. After having it on for eight hours I looked, well, radiant!
And that's from a foundation junkie; MAC, Chanel, Laura Mercier, I've tried them all.
One tip - if you are looking for a kabuki brush, I bought the Jemma Kidd one for boots and it's great. And the teeny little ziploc bag it comes in is a perfect fit for the brush and two sample size Lily Lolo pots.

Hi,
Thanks both for your replies, which is very helpful.
I did have a go last night and think it was okay. I did have my picture taken and I'll check and see if I can see a difference. I don't have the proper brush yet, but think I will get one. It does sound fab and I like the idea of not using proper foundation. Also I have previously used the Clinique face powder (loose one) and it just looks very caked on.
Many thanks again.

No probs, by the way I also found it doesn't look half as good until it's been on for a few hours and I've sweated into it (mm, lovely!)
