Question:
Could my makeup be causing breakouts
I'm really depressed with the state of my skin. I have mini acne breakouts on my cheeks and jawline which I take antibiotics for but could my makeup be causing these breakouts, or should I just put it down to hormones?
I use Clinique Super Balance foundation which is oil free - has anybody had a reaction to this before? I only use a small amount of foundation for everyday wear with my moisteuriser, mac studio finish concealer to hide the spots and lancombe bronzer. I tend to change brands quite a bit and have had these spots for at least 2 years now and the only thing I've continously used is the Clinique foundation which I'm thinking could be the problem? Just so depressed with all the red marks I'm left with :(
I would leave the Clinique alone for now to rule it out completely - you can always go back to it later. . Almay do a nice foundation that doesn't cause spots.
It could also be your bronzer causing the cheek breakouts, whereas jawline spots do tend to be related to hormones.
How do you apply your make up? It might be worth washing your sponges and brushes if you haven't done that already. I've got bad skin too - mine is hormonal. I stopped wearing makeup for a long time, thinking it might clear up my skin, but it didn't.

That's what I thought too, about the jawline spots.
Jawline is hormonal and digestive...
I would recommend washing your bronzer brush out too, made sucha difference when i done mine...also do not under any circumstance touch your face or jawline, i know you wanna feel the spots in day to see if still there but its soooo bad and will keep them there..
*she says while touching a spot on her jawline*
I use my fingers to apply make up and always make sure I wash my hands and face first - I am clean, honest!! I also wash my brushes regularly. It could be a number of reasons but I'm going to buy a new foundation at the weekend and stop using the Clinique for a while. Where can you buy Almay foundation from? Would like to try something new. I also use the phone a lot at work, so am going to give that a clean now I'm thinking about it and try not to touch my face.
