Question:
Compact foundation
Does anyone use compact foundations and find them not too heavy? I used to use the N07 one and loved it until they had their revamp and the compact ended up being just a bit of foundation and a silly small sponge that was impossible to use. I have only just noticed today that they have changed it back to a full foundation and decent sized sponge and was wondering whether to try it again but I am wary of compact foundations being cakey on my 45 year old skin :)
I went to a Virgin Vie party last night & tried their One-Step Face Base. I was quite impressed when I tried it dry, but one of the women tried it on me with a damp sponge - good coverage, no caking, nice glowy finish. They have a 30 day money-back guarantee so I ordered it (it's never really a good idea for me to mix alcohol & make-up  ), with the option of sending it back if it turns out to be crap.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Do you have dry skin? Just wondering if this compact works OK on dry skin like mine. At the moment I am having hot sweats (due to the weather and my age!) and make up is just sliding off my face, even tinted moisturiser. I am wondering if a compact foundation may stay put more but I don't want it to be too cloggy.
I have fairly dry skin too. I use MAC Studio Fix which is a foundation/powder and I find that moisturising before hand and applying straight away will help with the dryness and stop my pores from clogging too much. I also sweat a fair bit and fidn it does stay put to a certain degree.
:)
I'm prone to dry skin too, to the extent that I'd rather use wipe off over rinse off cleansers, and like LilMakeUpFairy I use MAC Studiofix. It's a powder compact but I don't find it cakey and with the right moisturiser for your skin underneath it isn't drying either.
