Custom charges
Question:

Custom charges
  I am absolutely fuming!
I took advantage of the free delivery to the UK from the Benefit website only to be now lumbered with £11 custom charge:mad:
I checked the small prints on the website and sure enough it states that packages might be subject to a custom charge at the destination. I feel like such a mug...not only does it now cost probably as much as it would've over here, but I also ended up buying a bit more than I probably needed, just so I can qualify for the free delivery.
I guess there really is no such thing as a good burgain:(

Anything bought outside the EEC and costing over £18 is subject to customs duty. Even if the form is tick as a gift if it comes to over £50 you will pay customs duty.

Answers:

Is that 18£ a fixed price to all countries?
ps- i too have been mugged over that sh!t !
Bought about 20£ from Sasa and ended paying 7£ more because of the stupid customs!

Yes £18 is the cut off point. You either get them to mark the item at a lower price or tick as a gift. But most companies will not do that, ebay sellers sometimes do.

Answers:

I've heard if you use shopthestates.com they are good at writing the custom labels so you dont pay customs charges.
