Coming off the pill.....spots????
Question:

Coming off the pill.....spots????
I came off Dianette in March as I wanted to give my body a break, going to be trying for a baby early next year. For the first 4 months my skin was great............but now it has gone mad. My cheeks and jawline are covered with lumps under the skin and big red boils on my cheek. Am currently using Dermalogica, am wondering whether to change my cleaners etc, go back onthe pill for a short while, go to the GP and get some antibiotics. Did anyone get this after coming off the pill???

Hi There
If you do a search on the 'health' forum under Irishbabe, you will find a thread I posted about this. Check it out, it has loads of info!
Hope this helps!

I will check for you when I get back this evening and post the info tommorow.
I have been very lucky and have only had a few spots here and there, but I started taking EPO before I came off the pill (about six months) so I think that helped ease the side effects.

I've been off Diannette for about 8-9 months now having been on it for 6 years. Like you, I went through a time where my face was greasier and more spot prone around the jaw and a few angry spots on my cheeks. It does pass and your body should adjust - mine did a few months later :)
I used (and still do use) REN facial wash for normal skin in morning and evening. In the Evening I use Dermalogica microfoliant as well for a final cleanse and I didn't use moisturiser but used Dermalogica medicated clearing gel on affected areas.
In the day I moisturise with a tiny bit of Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream and Solar Defence mixed in. During hot summer days I just used the Solar Defence.
Hope this helps.x
BTW there is a big thread on the boards called 'acne cure'. I tried it on the affected areas with all the glycolic acid and so on, but just made my skin really greasy and my skin was better off without all of the bother. I found simplicity is the key for me, but then it might work for you...
