Question:
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers!!!
Well, I've been wanting a pair of these for absolutely aaaaaages & finally caved when I heard they sold them in Harvey Nicks. I had been searching online trying to find somewhere that sold them in the UK but had no luck & then read in a magazine that you could phone up HN & they'd send them out to you. I decided to do it as I'd heard all the top models use them & wanted to see whether they lived up to the hype.
They arrived within a couple of days & I have to say that I've never been so impressed with a beauty tool!!! :yay: My eyelashes were curled instantly & when I applied mascara I was amazed to see that they almost reached my eyebrows!!! I waited to see if the curl lasted as I was sure that they'd drop after a few hours but they looked the same as they did when I first applied mascara that morning when I took off my makeup that night! :D I used them for my brother's graduation on Monday & my eyes looked great - really dramatic looking. I actually looked as though I was wearing false eyelashes!
I was a bit sceptical about these at first as I couldn't see how they could be any different to normal cheapy ones but I will never buy a cheap pair again! They always seem to stop working properly after a few weeks & the curl definitely doesn't last all day. I don't know why the Shu ones work so well but the only difference I can think of is that the rubber strip seems much more raised up than on normal curlers.
Anyway, I thought it was my duty to recommend these to all you baggers as I think every woman is after fab-looking lashes. :) I now realise that it doesn't really matter what mascara you use, as long as you have a decent pair of eyelash curlers. I normally use Rimmel's Extra Super Lash Mascara which is great anyway but I've also used mascaras that I've found to be rubbish after curling with my Shu curlers & my eyelashes still look great so I no longer have to hunt for a miracle mascara! :yay:

ETA: They cost £18 plus £5 for P&P - bit expensive but totally worth it!!! :D
They are great aren't they? :great: I just wish they sold refils for them. Its such a bummer having to buy a whole new curler every time the silicon pad wears out (after having used the 1 replacement they do give you  )
Yup, can't live without them :) A little off-topic question. How often do you actually change the black rubber grip? I've had mine for close to a year and they show no signs of wearing down. I don't use it everyday, about once every 2 days or so and I wipe them clean every week when I clean my brushes.

It says on the back of my box that the lifespan of one silicone pad is 3 months if used daily but if yours is still in top condition after a year then I guess that's wrong! :)

Thanks for that, Lisa :)
