Question:
A Qestion for any Irish Beauty Baggers
OK Irish baggers if you're out there I've got osmething that's been puzzling me for a while
In the UK we don't have a nationwide *bag tax* like in the ROI, some shops like Lidl's do charge for bags but this is usually well known of beforehand.
The reason I'm asking about this in beauty is that it relates to BOOTS. When we were in ROI on holiday, the only time we were near one was on the Bank Holiday Monday so it was shut!
In Britain we get our Boots stuff put into REALLY thing straggly plastic bags that rip or hole easily, and lately I've often thought, well if the Irish were paying their bag tax for these piddly little bags they'd be a bit miffed I would have thought.
So the question is
In ROI Boots do they
A Charge the tax for the thin piddly bags
B Charge the tax but for thicker bgs with sronger handles
C Have cloth bags you can buy
D Hand out paper bags like when we were in Dunn's Stores *sp?*
E They don't hand out any @ all
Just curious as to what Boots do in Ireland vis a vis the bag tax. I'm sure they did use to sell bigger bags with stronger handles at one point but they haven't for some time. In the UK they pack the stuff themselves so are not very good at asking if you want a bag or seeing if you have an alternative bag to their thin straggly bags and I was thinking *hmmmm they wouldn't get away with that in ROI Boots with the bag tax*
This was the only forum I oculd think of where there might be people who would know - Im sure you are out there as I have seen stuff about spending euro X @ Boots in the past *don't have the euro symbol on my keyboard im afraid*
Hi, To answer your question... Boots give out the paper bag-like those from Dunnes. They have them in about 3sizes. I am pretty sure they also sell reusable cloth bags...
A Question for any Irish Beauty Baggers
I am in Belfast and our Boots never asks do you want a bag, just put your stuff in them. Lidl do charge for bags, they say it keeps the costs down.
This is gross but I use my plastic bags for cleaning the cat litter!!! And also put them in our recycling bin too.
I've only ever gotten a paper bag.Never seen a reuseable type.
