Question:
Toner and sensitive skin
Does anyone here with mega sensitive skin use toner? I have eczema and try to avoid it but my skin never feels fresh somehow. I tend to use wipes or just a face wash cream.
Yes me! I have very sensitive skin and never bothered with toner before until I received a sample of the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. Its very gentle and doesnt contain alcohol so it wont strip the skin. Ive never had a problem with it. It leaves skin refreshed and brighter. I dont use face wipes anymore as it irritates my skin.

I've never found a difference between using a toner and not using one, and any immediate feeling of skin being refreshed with a toner quickly fades. So I just splash my face with cold water after using a cleanser.
I have eczema too, and I have found simplifying my routine has really heped. Face wipes may be convenient but I can't see it being good for your skin, and it doesn't really take that much longer just to use a cleaner. If your skin never feels fresh then I'd say you're not using the right cleanser, or you skin needs some gentle exfoliation.
Salma, which cleanser and moisturiser do you use? I keep trying alsorts and then resorted to basic emolient products but I still feel my skin isn't fresh somehow.
I use aqueous cream to cleanse, which did take a bit of getting used to as I used to use allsorts of fancy expensive cleansers before. But my skin has never been better!
As for moisturiser, I use Origins Have a Nice Day, but thinking of switching to Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance. Have a Nice Day doesnt irritate me like other moisturisers, which is great because I can't get along with using emoillients on my face. You can get samples of both quite easily at counters/online. Its just a case of trial and error I'm afraid, but it will be worth it when you find the right products. Do keep an eye out on the ingredients, as with eczema you have to be really careful, otherwise it could take months to recover from an allergic reaction, which is the last thing you need on your face.
