Question:
Cosmetics 'Filofax'
I was in Brown Thomas in Dublin while away for the weekend a couple of months and saw the most faaaaaabulous cosmetics 'organiser' - it was a bit like a filofax, you could choose your own products and colours to put in it, and the cover/ bag was made from beautiful soft leather.
I wasn't cheap but it was one of those products you find yourself subconsciously thinking about when you're daydreaming (spot the saddo!:o)
But.....can I remember who made it????? Can anyone help, I'd like to treat my best friend for her birthday
Thanks
Shameless *bump*
Does anyone know what I'm on about??
Thanks
Yes, you poor bumper. It's the Trish McEvoy planner you mean. I have the petite black quilted one and I love it. I travel quite a bit for work and wanted some way for my make up to be more easily managed and organised. A friend showed me her planner and i was sold. The magnetic sheets are really handy because you can put in and take out various colours as you want to use them adn should you need advice on how to get shadows and stuff out of their original casings, just call.
Anyway, as you say, they're not cheap, but...
Brown Thomas had - at least recently - an offer of a pink planner with a load of stuff already in it. Worked out quite a good price. Better, though, is that Harvey Nichols in Dundrum are doing a Trish event with the lady herself on Sept 19th. It's two hours, it's 75 Euro and it can be offset against a purchase. So, if you're going to invest anyway, you might as well do the event. 75 shoudl buy some make up adn and planner, I hasten to add. By the way, I don't work for HN, I just had a voucher for there and was going to use it for the event, but i'm away on holidays that week.
Let me know how you get on. If you want.
Mincat, you superstar! And you lucky girl having a system yourself.
Trish McEvoy, that's it, I have a brain like a seive these days. Wow it is the most beautiful system......look at me saying I want to get one for my friend, I'd be so jealous I might have to have one for myself too. I travel a lot with work too so I think I need one realistically :p
Unfortunately I don't live in Ireland, I'm in the midlands so Sept 19th will be too tricky....how I would love to go though. I wonder if Trish McEvoy is stocked anywhere over here? I think Harvey Nich's or Selfridges would be my best bet....
Off to dream some more....
Thanks again
xx
Hi,
Sorry, now that I re-read I see you were just visiting Dublin. Yeah, they have Trish McEvoy in both Selfridge's and HN in London. Have seen her stuff both places. A friend of mine works in the Dublin Harvey Nicks and apparently Trish McEvoy is going to be in England before coming here, so it might be worth ringing Selfridge's to find out. i'm in London on Monday, so she's trying to sort me an appointment there. Fingers crossed!
It is a pricey item, but you can go the eBay route. I have bought sample sizes of her extremely expensive foundation on eBay and small sizes of her eyeshadow base, both of which I really like.
By the way, the black quilted planner is leatherette. If you can stretch to the leather, then go for it. It's divine.
HOpe all this helps.
