Hair Removal: IPL vs. Laser

Hi, does anyone have experience with IPL or Laser or any other ways of hair removal?
I would like to get my hair on the legs removed and wonder if someone has experience if the hair comes back, if its painful, if the skin could get damaged and so on.
Called a registered salon for IPL yesterday and asked and they said there are no side effects and the hair never comes back again, only other hair in case of a hormonal change. Sound a bit dodgy though?!
How much would it roughly cost?
Can you also do the bikini line with laser or IPL?
Can anyone recommend a good salon in London?

IPL is a form of laser.
You'll need AT LEAST 6 sessions before you'll lose the bulk of your hair. If a salon tells you they can do it in 3, don't go back.
