Question:
How do you use a foundation brush?
Hi,
I have always used my fingers to apply foundation (liquid), and was wondering how you would use a foundation brush. I have read loads about them and how they help to create a flawless finish, whilst using less product, but I just haven't a clue where to start!! I apply foundation all over my face as I have an uneven skin tone, and I tend to just blob little bits all over and then blend it outwards. I fancy trying a foundation brush, but haven't a clue where to start!!
Can anyone help me??
I have been using a foundation brush for a while and I would never go back to using my fingers or a sponge. It gives a much smoother finish and you do use less product.
I have a Prescriptives brush, which was pricey at the time, but it's lasted well. I use Prescriptives foundation, hence my choice of brush!
I blob a bit of foundation on the back of my left hand, usingthe brush in my right hand. I dip the brush in the blob. I tend to pick up a small amount at a time, building up the cover as I go.
I just squeeze a little foundation onto the brush and start "painting" my face, blending outward from the t-zone. Add a little more onto the brush if you need to.
I pump some foundation onto the back of my hand and then dip the brush in a bit as a time as i do my face.
Usually goes, side of face, other side, chin, upper lip, nose and then forehead.
Don't be too heavy handed with it otherwise you can get streaks. I've been using a brush for just over 3 years now and wouldn't go back.
Oh I've just used my MAC one after God knows how long as I've run out of sponges I gently "painted my face. My MAC full coverage looks fab, dunno why I didn't stcik to the brush - my base looks less noticeable than it does when I use a sponge.
