Think body oil is wrecking my fake bake
I used some NIvea Body Oil with Aleo Vera this morning to moisturise and have noticed my tan has gone really patchy!
Should I stay away from it or is it pure coincidence? Maybe that fake bake airbrush spray is even worse than I thought and goes patchy quickly anyway...
How long have you had the tan on now?
You might need to exfoliate, the oil might be helping the loose skin cells rub off iyswim?
I am exfoliating every other day so it can't be that. Used my trusty old NIvea Q0 lotion last night and today and it's fine. My skin obviously doesn't like the oil!
Perhaps because of the hot weather, the oil is somehow helping to 'sweat' the fake bake out faster than normal? I know that hot weather can sometimes cause tan to go patchy faster, because in areas like the crook of your arm you're producing more moisture/sweat. Could that maybe be it?
I read in Elle not long ago oil shouldn't be applied to fake tanned skin as it literally just rubs it off. Try and use a water based lotion instead.
