Question:
Need help with grooming routine
Hi all
I need some advice about getting my skin clear and keeping it clear.
I use Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel twice daily and aslo the active Moist afterwards. However, I have troublesome clogged pores/blackheads on my cheeks, nose and forehead. I just can't get it to clean out.
I've tried a few masks albeit the normal crappy one sfrom Boots to no avail and am now thinking that I might have to step my game up a bit.
I don't know what I need to do (BTW I am a bloke, so help me out here:o ). I thought maybe I need to use an exfoliant and a mask every now and again, but I don't know which I need.
I was going to get the Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub,or Daily Microexfoliant but I don't know which would suit my skin.
Also what type of mask should I use. I've been to a therapist a few times and she used a (I think) mineral based one which was ice cold and really tingly on my skin. My skin always seems to improve after the treatment.
I gusess the main problem is that I don't do much between visits to her and therefore the problem is not dying down.
Any advice or whatever for me to use - my skin is looking not so great at the minute. annoyingly, sometimes the blackheads seem to become aggrevated and turn into spots so I really want to get them sorted out.
What should I be adding to my routine?
Thanks,
FM
get a deep cleanse facial from a salon, get some advice on products from them and stick to it and keep going back at least 1x per month
also be as healthy as poss with exercise, water and fruit consumption!
Definitely drink lots of water to help flush your system.
An exfoliant of some sort is a good idea , because it'll remove the dead surface skin cells which will be contributing to the blocked pores.
I'd say if you're already using Dermalogica products, find somewhere that does Dermalogica facials and ask them to recommend products that will help sort your skin out - then its just a matter of sticking to the routine and being patient (nothing works overnight!).
Hope that helps a bit.

Im a Dermalogica user too, and I find Dermal Clay is fab for that. i use it in the evening (I use Anti-bac in the morning), and cleanse with it twice. The second cleanse I leave it on for about 3 mins as a mask. You might like to remove it with a flannel or muslin cloth as your see some gunk come to the surface so its best to gently scrub it away.
Im thinking of buying the microfoliant next week so ill let you know how I get on if I buy it!
I also have dermalogica facials which I cant recommend enough.
Drinking the water is a must too.
Good luck!
