Question:
Skin care
Hello,
Hope someone can help me! Ive never had bad skin or any major complaints, but i need to step up my beauty regime as Im 27 and my skin feels pretty yuck at the moment. My face is has a reddish tint, blotchy and i have a few small spots recently on chin (which normally hapens around period time). Gosh I sound like a right minger! Its not that bad with make up on etc but bare faced it depresses me. I have combination skin, that is dry after washing etc and gets oily throughout the day. I currently use Eucerine dry face cream which helps the dryness well. My face just seems very patchy with red marks and eurghness!
Can anyone recommend any affordable skincare/make up that may improve my skin and make me feel x100 better please?!:o
What do you use to wash your face with at the moment? I've got similar skin to you, combination, and I really love Lush's ultrabland. It's a bit unusual in that it's oily and dissolves makeup/dirt and you wipe it off, but it really helped my skin. Made it lovely and soft and didn't break me out (which I was wary of). It's about £4.50 for a pot that lasts 6-8 weeks.
I also liked using their Imperialis moisturiser which is balancing but I've switched to using my own, but I'd still buy this if I needed to.
Do you use masks or scrubs? If you get a good one it can make a big difference. I use either Lush (again!) Mask of Magnaminty or MAC scrub mask.
And how's your diet? Do you eat a lot of aggravating foods, ready meals, sugar, alcohol etc? Get loads of water down you, fresh food, and you should notice a difference.
Thanks for those tips!
I rarely drink alcohol, drink water all day at work and am eating healthily. I use Johnsons face wipes at night time to remove my make up and mascara (could they be a problem?!)
in the shower in a morning i use Johnsons exfoliating daily wash and then Eucerin dry skin face cream. I have used all of these for a while, but its recenlty that my face seems to be feeling a bit eurgh?!
Ill try visiting Lush - but i struggle to walk past the shop never mind go in! The smell make me feel really ill  Thanks for your reply!
I personally don't reckon wipes do enough of a good job to use all the time. I keep simple ones for emergencies but if I've gone 2-3 nights just using these then I notice my skin becomes bumpy, dry and generally horrible. Perhaps try using a more thorough wash for a few nights?
I agree, wipes do not appear to get all makeup residue off and they usually have alcohol in which is drying for skin amongst other thing. Have you had a look at more gentle options, something which also doesnt contain any harsh detergents. Lush are a popular brand on here, their products aren't 100% but they do try. Also Neal's Yard and Ren are both popular natural brands if you want to give your skin a bit of a rest from harsh chemicals for a bit.
