Question:
Salon Spray Tan
Hi all,
I've always done my fake tan myself, but I'm not very good at it, and it takes me ages!
I'm going on holiday in August and was thinking of treating myself to a spray tan at the salon, to save time and make sure it's done properly!
Which one would you recommend? I mean any particular brand of spray tan? I'd like the one where you stand in the booth on your own as oppose to standing there butt naked with someone soraying it on me (I don't want white patches!!)
Can anyone recommend a good one?
I'm in the manchester area btw,
:thanks:
tbh, i would not recommend the spray booth option. i havent heard one good report! quite a lot of my clients have tried this option and have all said that the results were extremely patchy / streaky.
i work in a tanning / beauty salon. we use california tan which i find has really good natural results. its not too dark for fair skin, but a darker result can easily be obtained if this is what the client wants.
before having a spray tan done, you should exfoliate your skin really well every day for about a week beforehand, to get rid of any dead skin, the same as you would when you apply fake tan yourself. also moisturise really well too, but dont moisurise on the day of your treatment, as some moisurisers will act as a barrier to the spray tan. if you do have any dry patches, the technician should deal with these for you as part of your treatment.
hope this helps.

I see! Thanks for the info Clairbelle!
Has anyone here had successful spray tan though?

i think you will be fine so long as you go for a spray tan that is applied by a beautician. its just the ones that you stand alone in a spray booth that are not so good.:)

I've had the California Tan done, I've got fair skin and it did look natural and didn't streak. It lasted about a week but I wasn't that careful about exfoliating etc beforehand so it might last longer if you look after it better. Having it sprayed on by someone else wasn't too awkward but seeing as it was the same beautician who does my Brazilian wax it didn't seem that exposed in comparison!
