Question:
Eyelash perming
Has anyone had an eyelash perm?
I have a couple of stubborn straight lashes at the outer corners of my left eye that just refuse to curl, so i was wondering about the perming. I'm far to chicken to have it done without some recs
I've had it done twice at 2 different places and it didn't really work for me. Mine are poker straight all over. The first time it was done worked better than the second. The lashes curled a bit but lasted less than a fortnight.
The second time the lashes on one eye curled a bit at an angle so she couldn't have put them on the curler quite right. It dropped a few days later and since then I've been looking for the holy grail of manual curlers!
It takes about an hour. You need a patch test 24 hours at least prior as they use a mild perming lotion. Doesn't hurt.
The lashes are curled over a curler using a cocktail stick and then the perming lotion is put on, then a neutralising lotion and the curlers removed. It is a fiddly job so takes quite a while.
Lots of people have them tinted at the same time.
Have known a few people who've had it done. Most say it doesn't last 6 weeks let alone the 6-8 advertised. Some have been quite happy with the curl but several have had wonky curls and had to go back to have them re-done some more successfully than others.
On the whole I don't know anyone who would have it done regularly mainly cos fiddly and time consuming.
Hope that helps. Might be worth seeing how one treatment goes for you and take it from there.
Gosh, I didn't realise it took so long to do! I think i'll give it a miss, if it doesn't give particularly good results.
Thanks for replying :)
Hi
I always get this done as I can't stand wearing mascara.
I have really long eyelashes and it always curls really well have a blue/black tint which looks great!
The only time it didn't curl so well was when I tried a different salon. So now I stick with my usual beautician.
it will last until your eyelashes renew themselves which does normally take 6-8 weeks.
IMO its definatley worth it!
xxxxxx
