Pedicure
Question:

Pedicure
  hi guys
i need a pedicure cos my feet are horrible :o
i dont want a "cosmetic" one ie they just do your nails and rub your feet etc
i need one that will get rid of all the horrible hard skin/corns and soften my feet and tidy up my nails too (years of wearing high heels everyday)
i heard you can get one where they put paraffin wax or something on and it costs about £50 -- am i making sense??
i am happy to spend a reasonable amount of money.. and would prefer it to be available in the watford (herts) area! or north london
does anyone have any recommendations??
thanks

To be honest I wouldn't recommend a salon pedicure. You'll get much better results and cheaper by going to a chiropodist. You could look on Yell.com.

ah chiropodist is the word i was looking for!
right ive phoned my local one from yell.com and made an appt for tomorrow evening. (thank you rebelgirl!) its £27 for half an hour. i suppose he will just work on the dry skin etc. then i will have to pedicure my own toes? ? is that right
sorry, totally clueless here (!)

You know I've never been to a chiropodist either
I've just seen them recommended on here :)
I think you should get a pedicure including nails but I'm not sure.
Ideally what you want is a beauty therapist who's also a chiropodist

Yes, will just remove the dry skin but then you could either pedicure your own toes or go to a salon for a normal pedicure. Not sure if they get it all off in one go or not though.
To get rid of it using pedicures you'd need to be very regular and it would take quite a long time.
A paraffin ped will make a bit of a difference but it's the sort of thing that you get the benefit from if you do regularly.
Get rid of it for now and then regularly look after the skin yourself to try and keep it off. I think there are quite a few recs on the board for creams. ~A really nice salon one is Creative's Cucumber Heel Therapy but I'm sure other people could recommend good things to you that you can buy in boots.
Might be worth doing a search for microplane on here. Lots of people have bought it. Haven't been following the thread though so don't know what the verdict is on it.
