Question:
Think my suncreams causing spots.
I am getting a lot of spots on my face around jaw line, temples and forehead and I have quite dry skin and also around my collar bone and chest, back of neck. Basically in places where I've used sun cream or moisturiser with SPF in it and never had spots in these places before.
the spots on chest are quite red but the face spots aren't so apparent more like loads really close together and under the skin.
This hasn't happened to me before. Any ideas what in the creams is causing it.
I started off using on my face Green People moisturiser with SPF and abandoned that and bought Olay Regenerist with SPF which isn't so bad.
On other areas I used Boots soltan which I've used for years and now just bought Nivea but not making any difference.
Would an oil be better? Any suggestions welcome to shift my spots!
To help you try and figure out the cause this is really handy.
Comedogenic Ingredients
I've experienced the same problems with sun cream or spf products...I don't think its necessarily an ingredient, more the fact that these creams create a film on the surface of the skin that stops you sweating etc and getting rid of dirt.
I stopped using sun cream on my face and have started using Clarins UV40 under my normal moisturiser. It's fab because its like a watery moisturiser that sinks in really quickly and has spf 40..haven't had any spots since.

If it stops you sweating it would be blocking your pores which would be down to the ingredients wouldn't it.

It's best to apply sunscreen last to get the maximum benefit.
I really like the Clarins one too :) It's a light milk cream and doesn't feel heavy at all. There's no oil slick or white patches which is brilliant :yay:
I just wish it either came in a bigger size or wasn't so expensive
Well I'm desperate to get rid of them. It's never happened before. Might have to look into the clarins one then. Had a facial today and she sprayed over a dermalogica one at the very end. Am a bit worried about putting things on my skin now.
