Question:
Ultrashape - ultrasound for fat removal
Has anyone had this done?
Basically, they say they can use ultrasound waves to disperse fat around middle, flanks, etc. It's painless takes a couple of hours, is safe (so they say).
If so, must be people who've had it done. Can find sites offering it but can't find people who've had it done.
Anyone know anything about it or know anyone who has had it done.
Where does the fat go when it's been dispersed? Unless they drain it out, it will just resettle and probably in the same areas if that's where your body tends to store fat.
I can't see that working.

Good point. Just gone back to website cos thought I'd seen the explanation but can only find a bit that says it is transported away. Apparently kidney stones can be done this way as well. Also says fat cells are not recreated in adults so shouldn't come back. Looked at another site though with before and after pics and wasn't so impressed.
Kidney stones are shattered by ultrasound waves, so the fragments are small enough to be passed in the urine and leave your body.
It's kinda tricky to explain but fat cells are basically storage units for the fat, if it's released it will just redistribute/reform.
Adults don't really make more body cells, but the amount of fat in them can change. They'll just get bigger again!
Unless body fat is burnt for energy or physically removed from the body, it will still be there. It just might float around in a slightly different place for a bit...
It might be a good treatment for temporary inch loss/cellulite though?

Interesting points. I'm going to email them and ask and tell you what they say.
It costs around £750 which is fairly attractive to someone who doens't like knives! Not such an attractive proposition if only temporary. They reckon permanent but ...
website is www.ellipseklinikken that I've looked at but found a couple of other clinics on google.
