Question:
Who here has had a facial?
Im thinking of starting to have regular facials to help with my skin as dianette is proving rubbish at the moment.
Would be interested to know of anyones experiences!
What sort did you have? Would you recommend them? Any tips or hints? How much did you pay? Do you have them regulary? Any nightmare experiences?
Tell me all!
Thanks :aperbag:
I had regular facials when I was in my teens and has awful skin - thermo something  sorry, can't remember what! and it did help a little bit, but only the appearence rather than the cause. I have the odd facial now and then - dermalogica ones, when my skin needs a bit of a pick me up.
If its diannette thats causing your skin to go a bit mad, tbh, I wouldn't waste your money on facials quite yet, but try and find the root of the problem, balance out those hormones, and then use facials when its starting to recover...does that make any sense? :)
eta: they've ranged between 20 - 40 pounds, and I absolutly love having them done as a treat, really pampers you, but tbh I don't think they do much for your skin
I had my first and only facial last year just before my wedding and I have to say I wasnt impressed at all. It cost about £40 and I spent the whole time wishing it was over.
I have monthly La Prairie facials at a salon down the road. They last for 90 minutes and in that, you get a back scrub, arm scrub and short shoulder massage. They also pluck and shape your eyebrows too.
I find it nothing but relaxing and my skin looks amazing afterwards. I pay 80 Euros for 90 minutes, which is around 55 quid.
I would say that regular facials does help the skin keep looking at its optimum best. I really notice the difference when I say, skip a facial and have one the month after.
I had a facial recently at The Aveda Retreat which was catered for spotty and blackhead prone skin. It was amazing, made my skin look great and really clear.
I had some vouchers so got it free but usually it would cost £75 which is rather expensive, they recommend you have one every 6-8 weeks which I would never be able to afford.
I also had a facial at a Clarins beauty room in John Lewis, a friend paid a fee (not sure how much) for the facial and added £15 on which you can them redeem against any purchase, I think this is a really good idea because then you can treat yourself to one of the products they have used on you.
I keep saying I’m going to try and have facials regularly, was thinking I might go to the training school at my local college because they do them quite cheaply.
