Removing Acrylic Nails
Question:

Removing Acrylic Nails
I want to have a break from acrylic nails. Do I have to go to a salon to have them removed or is there an easy (and painless) way to do it myself?

Answers:

You can remove them by wrapping each nail in a cotton pad soaked in acetone (oil free nail polish remover) then wrapped in tinfoil to prevent evaporation. Leave these pads on for 20-30 minutes then unwrap one at a time and wipe off the goo. Try to prevent the acetone from sitting on your skin as it will dry it out. it's almost impossible to prevent it though, so use loads of good quality hand lotion/cuticle oil/moisturisers afterwards.

i have to say i have tried to take of my acrylic nails myself in the past & my nails have been so tender after!!
from experience & for the sake of a tenner id recommend just going to your local salon & haviing them removed professionally!

Herries method works really well, it's what I do :p
However, I'd go with Hapygal and get them done at the salon, they'll give you a good tidy up manicure too, and a coat of nail strengthener just to stop them feeling so vulnerable for the first couple of days.

I bought some stuff in Boots today which is supposed to do the job, says you just soak your nails and they disolve. I'm going to give it a go.
