Question:
Help! Going out tonight and don't know what make-up to wear!
Hi, I'm going out tonight and its a 'dressy-up' night where I need to look my best.
The only problem is, I don't know what make-up to wear.
I'm wearing a blue dress, its sort of like a dulled mid blue, and I'm wearing silver accessories, but I don't know what colour scheme to go for.
I've got blue eyes, and am going to just wear black eyeliner so they look a bit bluer to go with my dress, maybe a tiny bit of dark blue eyeshadow (y'know that Bourjois midnight blue shade), but I don't know what colour to do my lips. I know that sounds petty but my lips look wrong everytime I try a shade on.
My trusty MAC High Tea looks wrong with the blue, I've tried like a dark rose pink highlky pigmented gloss type thing, and a sort of beigey gold.
What make-up colour schemes can you suggest? And nails also?
Thank you, LL xxxx
If you are going to play up your eyes you really shouldn’t use a colour on your lips, as they say they rule is eyes or lips but not both.
If I was you I would wear a clear gloss, or a very nude coloured gloss and a nice blue shade on my eyes and really play them up rather than trying to make a statement of both your eyes and lips.
Try a baby pink or nearly nude colour - otherwise it might look a bit much if you have blue eyes and a deeply coloured lipstick. I'd go for a similar shade with the nails - personally I always try to match my nail varnish with my lipstick.
Ok, I've took your advice on toning down the nails and lips, and I've painted my nails just a simple nude colour (sort of like what you'd use for French Manicure), with a clear top coat on top. As for my lips, I think I'll have to use a tiny bit of lipliner to make me look a bit more done up but very very subtle, with a subtle pink lipgloss. I've got this one, which comes out really sheer and just looks like a bit of pink sparkle:
ETA: The one I've got is the lightest pink one there --->
