Fake Tan & the Gym
Question:

Fake Tan & the Gym
I've been using fake tan, used both L'Oreal Submline and also the Ambre Solaire Tan Maintainer. All start of fine and i do exfoliate once a week but noticed them going patchy so upped the exfoliation but now i'm wondering about it being cause i go to the gym every day and i certainly don't glow in there, i sweat big time and so thinking has anyone experience this?
I'm really careful and don't rub myself dry, more just wrap myself and let the towel absorb the water.
I remember years ago when i didn't do the gym much this didn't happen to my tan.
Could it be cause i sweat sooooooooooo much?

Hi there,
I have the same problem with being in the gym every day.
I notice it particularly on my feet - you can see trainer-sock outlines, not nice!!!
I just use a very light fake tan now, so that its not so noticeable, but its easier for me because I got to the gym at 630am, and come home and have a shower, so I can do my tan after that.
I exfoliate a couple of times a week.
Im not sure how much this has helped, sorry!! Just wanted to sympathise.

Yes! now you mention it I have been getting the fake tan freckle effect much more
my way around it is to exfoliate daily with a gentle lotion (boots spa) and use Piz Buin mousse in max - thats how i keep the colour up. Also i use a thick body moisturiser (johnsons) after every shower (twice a day on gym days)

I have this problem too! and it's just about the only beauty problem I can't solve. but I find I can minimise the problem by allowing at least 12 hours AND a shower between applying fake tan and working out. I'm also not fake-tanning as much now that I'm exercising regularly. I'm tempted to start sunbedding, as it's just so frustrating to have got my bod all nice and slim and toned and still feel I can't get it out on show because I'm too pale!

I think sweat can bring fake tan off - they tell you not to exercise after having a spray tan so maybe that's why? I'm guessing that the sweat is bringing it off in a patchy manner.
