My Aveda Facial for Blackhead prone Skin
Question:

My Aveda Facial for Blackhead prone Skin
On Friday last week I went for my pamper day at Aveda.
As part of my day I had an Aveda Earth Facial and I said I would report back to some people on here.
It was fantastic! It lasted 1hr 15mins, 15mins was the consultation and the hr was the facial.
The therapist gave me a tick sheet with different questions on with 5 different answers and I had to tick the answer most relevant to me, the questions included stuff like:
* Does your skin feel (Dry, Greasy, Combination, Spotty, Dull)
* Do you suffer from any of the following problems (Redness, dry patches, oilyness, spots, congestion/blackheads)
Then from the answers I gave she worked out which products to use on my skin. I came out at the right end of the scale meaning my skin is congested and I suffer from blackheads and occasional spots.
She started off by using a really lovely peppermint oil which she warmed in her hands and placed directly above my nose, I had to inhale deeply three times. The smell was amazing and it seemed to clear my head and relax me.
Then she used a variety of products to cleanse my skin, exfoliate and refresh. She also used hot towels to deep clean my skin and then checked for blackheads etc.
A machine was used that created steam to enable her to extract the blackheads more easily. I was amazed I could actually feel them popping out and she managed to get stubborn ones that I have not been able to clear myself.
She then repeated the process again, applied a deep cleansing mask and used the hot towels once more to really open the pores. She then finished with a pore tightener to close them up again and then an eye treatment and then a facial massage and using pressure to certain points cleared my skin of congestion.
Afterwards my skin looked absolutely amazing! It looks bright and clear and my blackheads were gone, it felt so soft and it was glowing with health and radiance.
Even though it was £75 I would definitely go again. The therapist was fantastic really friendly and my skin has never looked so great. Afterwards she gave me a list of all the products she’d used but she didn’t once try and get me to buy any products even though they sell them all there.
I think that once I have worked my way through the skincare items that I’ve got at the moment I will definitely get some of the Aveda Products she used on me in the future anything that makes my skin look that good is worth the money in my opinion.
So for those who were asking me about it – I would recommend it to anyone that suffers from blackheads. I would imagine if you could afford to have them on a regular basis it would really help.

OMG! That sounds like just what I need! Where did you go?

That sounds fantastic - sorry to be a bit gross but how did she actually extract them?

Curls Aloud – I went to the Aveda Retreat in Covent Garden, London.
Puddleduck – she checked where the worst ones were, then after she had used the machine to steam my skin she then extracted them using her fingers and a tissues wrapped round them.
She obviously had very good training in extraction because when she was trying to get them out she used her fingers in the best position to get to them and though the really bad ones were a little uncomfortable when she was getting rid of them it wasn’t painful.
My therapist was called Lindsey and she was brilliant :D

Cool - I've been meaning to book an appointment when I go down to London for ages. I've got loads of Priviledge points so I might treat myself next time. Sounds like a great treatment.
