Sticky on nails
Question:

Sticky on nails
  Hi everyone
does anyone out there use stick-on false nails? I was wondering how long you can keep them on for and if they ruin your real nails underneath? My own nails don't seem to grow very much and I'd like them to look a bit more glam. A few years ago I had some acrylic ones put on at a salon and, while they looked nice for the first wee while, the upkeep on them was constant and when I took them off, my own nails were a soft mushy mess for months afterwards! I just wondered if the ones you can buy in chemist shops would be any kinder to my own nails?
Thanks guys! xx

Princess Pashmina can usually advise on this - I have a box that I am too scared to use in case they look like talons coz you are not supposed to just pull them off afterwards!

I have used probably every brand of false nail and the ones I would recommend are Broadway Nails, either the ones with the break off tabs, or Natural Deceptions which have the white and crescent of the nail airbrushed on to them.
They ususally last me one week and after this they are pretty easy to remove, either by soaking them in warm acetone or pulling them if you are feeling naughty.
My nails underneath are nowhere near as damaged by these as they were with tips. Although obviously they need to be buffed and filed just to tidy them up and get any remaining glue off etc.

yeah just make sure you remove them properly by soaking them in nail polish remover.
they generally last about a week, but it does depend on whether you play sport, carry heavy things a lot, get drunk and do stupid things that cause your nails to ping off (oh I have some brilliant stories!)
buff them and massage some hand cream into your nails after removal and they'll be fine
