Lily Lolo Application Help Needed!!!!!
Question:

Lily Lolo Application Help Needed!!!!!
  Hello!
I have just got my samples of Lily Lolo products but so far im not impressed.
Its SOOO hard to apply and the powder just went everywhere when i used it. I ended up with more colour on some parts of my face than others and it was really visable.
I followed the instructions but i just cant do it. I just seem to get a big splodge on powder on parts of my cheek then hardly any coverage anywhere else.
As far as showing your pores as well as stated in another thread - its REALLY bad. I can never see the pores on my nose normally but they were totally visable after using this foundation and it didnt look good.
I have a feeling me and Lily Lolo arent going to get along!

Hi angelbutterfly,
Don't know if this is what you already did, but here's how I apply my Lily Lolo and have no problems at all:
When I got the sample pots I emptied them into bigger, tupperware dishes with lids so that I could get my brush right in the pot. Dip the brush in to get a little bit of powder on it, then rub the brush in circles around the lid for a bit so the powder covers the surface of the brush evenly. Hold the brush upright and tap the base of the brush on a hard surface so that any excess powder goes into the bristles, then just buff onto your face in circular motions.
Works great for me, I get even coverage and don't get powder everywhere. If you just use a little bit at a time you can build it up gradually for better coverage rather than applying a whole load in one go.
Are you using a kabuki brush? That will make a big difference with how easy it goes on and the finished look.
As for the pores on your nose, hmmmmm, not sure about that as I've had no problems. Are you putting more powder on the brush just to do your nose? As it may be that you're using too much? I start with my cheeks and in the same application I use that on my nose as well...
Hope that helps! You should persevere as it's good stuff! :)

I've had the same problem with the pores on my nose. It goes on better if you put very light layers on as MissPiggy described. To be honest I find it a bit of a faff and tend to only use it at weekends when I have time to mess.

I apply mine the same way as MissPiggy does although I don't have to tip the powder into a tupperware dish cos I have the full-size pot of foundation. If you don't tap the base of the brush on to a hard surface or on to the back of your hand like I do then the powder just sits on top of the bristles. It's then more likely to make a mess as it'll just fall off when you go to put it on your face IYSWIM. Regarding the problem with your pores, I'd really recommend getting a sample of the Flawless Silk Finishing Powder. It makes the foundation look so much better & makes your pores look virtually invisible. I wasn't expecting it to be that good so I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it. It's much, much lighter than the foundation so it doesn't feel heavy at all & it's so sheer that it doesn't affect the colour of your foundation one bit.
I'm not saying that Lily Lolo is going to work for everyone but it's the best makeup I've ever used so please stick with it as it's such good stuff! :D

I got a load of samples and have used the foundation and powder three times so far. It gets easier with each application.
What I do is very gently dip my large powder brush into the tiny sample jar so only a little powder clings to the bristles. I then tap the excess off onto the back of my hand. I then cover the whole brush with the powder from the back of my hand, dabbing until all the bristles are covered and no powder comes off when I tap the brush firmly. I then apply to my face in circular motions. Just make sure you don't have too much powder on your brush so it goes on evenly. Apply it first to your forehead or cheeks rather than your nose as they are large surface areas and you can blend those more easily. Basically just go with what the others said above. :D
