Went to the doctor about my skin...
Question:

Went to the doctor about my skin...
I walked in, sat down, and he said 'This is about your skin isnt it?'. :o :aperbag:
He's such a sweetie, I cant really understand a word he's saying half the time, but he really understands women and their skin.
Anyway, he had a look, he said its not actually that bad but he remembers me having great skin. And ive only been having spots for the last 6 months. (Im 22 by the way)
So I tolds him im sick of buying new products, and I want something thats going to get rid of them. He's prescribed me Dianette.
(im on Microgynon at the moment and he said that a lot of people suffer from spots on that particular pill)
I cant start taking to for 2 weeks yet, but hes said it will almost certainly clear them up.
If it doesnt then he said he'll start me on Tetracycline, but I have to give Dianette 3 months.
Anyone else have experience of this? My sister said that Dianette cleared her spots up in under a month, but she was very moody and irritable.

Yasmin is another pill that is meant to be good for the skin. Think it was Dianette that gave me watermelons as breasts and they were so godamn sore !

hya, im about to start dianette in 3 weeks!honestly i cant wait because im just hopin it clears my skin for good!
i was on Tetracycline, for about 2years and it did work however once i came off it the spots all came back which was really disheartening if u know what i mean. im now on a different form of it called oxytetracycline but i cant say iv really noticed it doing much, the nurse at brooks told me i should change doctor as i should not have been on antibiotics for so long, she also said she would prescribe dianette for me when my next injection (depo) is due, and thats in 3weeks so i really cant wait!let me know how u get on with it. iv read loads of stuff on it and my friend is on it, it has made a major improvement on her skin but she is really emotional now, gets really upset very easily. but im willing to give it a try.
good luck with it!xx

I was on dianette for 2 years when i went to uni, and changed doctor. My new doc was horrified I had been on it so long as apparently the MAXIMUM you should ever be on it for is 6 months.
It cleared up my skin, but apparently it massively increases your chances of blood clots, heart disease, breast and cervical cancer.
Sorry - really don't meant to upset you, I'm sure it'll be ok. I was fine, but I'm now on Cileste and that also sorts my skin but without the danger.

I've just come off Dianette and onto Cilest. The Dianette did clear my skin but made me very depressed.
Hopefully it will work for you :)
