Facial fake tan for oily skin
Question:

Facial fake tan for oily skin
I have oily, acne-prone skin and most fake tans seem to be too rich for my skin and clog my pores. Does anyone know of any suitable for my skin type? Although, I have to say, fake tans never seem to stay on my skin properly. They seem to disappear after about a day so I have to make up the colour with bronzer. What's that all about?!

Answers:

I have this problem too. I find most fake tans (even the facial ones) too rich for my oily skin, and I think they make me break out.
I use Boots Soltan self tan facial mask (the peel off kind) which doesn't make my skin break out, but I find that it doesn't actually peel off, so it's so hard to remove :(
Oh, and about the fake tan not lasting on your face, do you use products for acne-prone skin, as these often contain salicylic acid which is a chemical exfoliator, so it probably takes the fake tan off? Not sure if I'm right about that last bit...

Answers:

Hmm, yes, my Vichy facewash does have small amounts of glycolic acid and salicylic acid in so that's probably what the problem is. Ah well, I can't sacrifice that for the sake of a bronzed face, unfortunately, so I guess I'll have to live with it.
I've bought the Marks and Spencer pre-tan serum so I'll give that a go because I'm so pale that a full-on tan looks completely out of place on me, especially when the weather's still rubbish!

i have acne and im a fake tan junkie...from extensive testing my favourites are johnsons holiday skin for combination skin (its very light) and rimmel gel fake tan every day or so to look quite tanned - it sinks in quickly and is non greasy

hi im quite prone to spots on my face every so often and iv tried loads of fake tans especially in the last few weeks, gone abit mad for the stuff!also most nights i tend to use angels on bare skin from lush to wash my face which is like a gentle scrub so i do have to apply fake tan quite often.
iv experienced breakouts with fake bake, even tho i love the lotion for body, that and the one especially for the face just clogged up my pores, as did st tropez bronzing mist tho not as badly. for the past couple of weeks iv been using l'oreal sublime bronze gel (recommended by peeps on here) and im happy to say iv had no breakouts and no clogged pores!its really light and soaks in quite fast, i usually apply at night before i go to bed, and iv been really pleased with the colour every time, no hint of orange!:yay:
