Question:
First St Tropez spray tan!
I am going for my first St Tropez spray tan on Saturday.
What do I need to do/know beforehand?
What do I wear during it? Is it done by a machine or by a person?
How long before should I exfoliate and shave etc and how long does it last?
Sorry for all the questions!
Hi Chesney
I have had this done a few times...I love it! I will try to answer your questions..
You don't really need to know anything beforehand but maybe moisturise well the night before, they will give you barrier cream for areas like knees, elbows etc so that it doesn't go too dark there..
The ones I have are done by a person, although I think you can get booths as well. I prefer the person as they can look at where they are putting it! They will put the barrier cream on for you after you are stipped down to some paper pants (I think you can wear your own if you prefer) I was really worried about stripping off at first but they must see loads of people starkers every day and *hopefully* some of them worse than me!
I would exfoliate and shave 24hours before.
Oh, and remember to wear loose clothes! They leave you for 10mins or so to dry off but you wont be completely dry when you get dressed so make sure you don't wear anything that rubs...and don't put your bra back on!
Hope this helps a wee bit!
ah thanks, I'll have to find some baggy old clothes to wear then!
How long does it usually last?
Sorry, forgot to answer that one! It really depends on how often you shower. The girl in the salon suggested to me to try to shower every other day and it would last a week to 10 days but I like a shower in the morning so mine usually lasts about 5 days.
Have also had this done, I have alway had it done by a person not in a booth as I think you get a better all over tan when it is a person as they pay attention to all the extra little bits.
Definatly exfoliate, I use body shop scrubs which are fantastic, especially on knees elbows and heels of feet!
Also clothes that you are putting back on should be dark coloured, as it can sometimes rub off (i made the mistake of wearing white skirt after!) You will smell of a spray tan after, they do say dont shower or get wet until the next day but I generally cant take the smell so end up showering that night before I go out to show off my super tanned legs!
You will love it!
Enjoy
