Older Baggers Beauty Tips for Younger Baggers
Question:

Older Baggers Beauty Tips for Younger Baggers
Well I have a long list. I do so wish someone had told me these when I was young. So give us lists of things you know now that you wish you had known then - and age doesn't really matter! If you have a tip, put it on here!
  • Take care of your hands and neck - they show your age first and are so easy to neglect.
  • Take care of your feet - all those pointy shoes come back to haunt you later in life
  • Use sunscreen and if you have to tan - fake it!
  • Drink Lots of water
  • Don't yo yo diet or binge and starve or do fad diets - your skin will hate you for it and you will end up fatter and flabbier than ever
  • Don't smoke
  • Get lots of sleep
  • Don't drink too much alcohol
  • Always remove your makeup before you go to bed
  • Don't save things for best - make every day 'best'
  • Appreciate what you have - this is the youngest you will ever be
  • Don't let beauty assistants intimidate you - they work for you basically, not the other way around.
  • As you get older, less is more - don't shovel on the makeup!

I look back at my diaries from when I was about 18 and they are full of *I am fat I am ugly* and I was about a size 14! Obsessing about my weight let me to anorexia then bulimia and I ended up 15 stone which I managed to lose at about 30 years old and I have never looked back. I am 44 now and life is goooood!

Do not under any circumstances use a sunbed to get a tan! I really can't reiterate that enough.

Your body in your late teens will probably be the best it will ever be. Now is the time for showing it off instead of worrying about how "fat" you are.
If you are very slim as a teen, don't assume you always will be......watch the beers they come back to haunt your arse/thighs/tummy as your twenties progress:(

* To keep the skin around your eyes as wrinkle-free as long as possible:
- don't rub your eyes - it will stretch the delicate skin
- always wear sunglasses to avoid squinting - same goes for wearing glasses with the correct prescription
- when the alarm goes off in the morning, don't squint at it and then hit snooze - either get up when the alarm goes off or set the alarm to a time when you really will get up
- use a good eyecream
* Avoid touching, scratching or rubbing your face - you can transfer dirt from your hands/fingers/nails to your face and it can give you spots. The scratching can also damage your facial skin, so, even if it itches, never ever scratch.
* Make sure you eat healthily and exercise regularly - you might think that just because you are young, you're invincible, but it will catch up with you when you get older
* When you're young, experiment with different makeup styles, fashion, etc., because when you're older you won't be able to get away with it as easily ;)

If you're suffering from oily skin and spots......
1. Don't pick and squeeze. 99 times out of a 100 you'll make things much worse, and it will take far longer to heal. (Now does any bagger, older or younger, have any tips to make me take my own advice???? )
2. When you're 16 and fed up of spots, grease etc, well meaning friends and family will tell you you'll have grown out of it by the time you're 18. Then 21. Then 25. And when at 25 you're still suffering they'll switch to 'you'll be glad of it when you're 40'. The last one at least is true.
3. Do as I say, not as I do (see 1 above........)
