Question:
laser tattoo removal
Hi
just a quick question...
anyone ever had this done?
Wondering about pain and success! In the clinic where I am seriously considering this it all seems rosy, not too painful and will remove all but im just worried it won't work that well for all the money!

I've never had it done myself, but I've done a search and there's a link for you here:
Thanks fluffy bunny!
Hrmm.. it says black is the most difficult to remove (which mine is), but sk:n network, where I am getting mine done, say on all their leaflets, website etc that black is the easiest to remove!
I am confused now. Think maybe John Gustafson has got it wrong this time. (i hope)

Hi jayjay,
I haven't read the link but everywhere says the same: colours are hardest to remove, black is the easiest.
Let us know how you get on, I'm considering it myself!
xx

Hiya! I don't normally venture onto Beauty but came across your thread quite by chance :)
I had a 6" by 5" tattoo of a gryphon on my right shoulderblade, done when I was 17. I have now had it lasered off very successfully - it is almost completely gone.
I started my treatment at a clinic called Laserase:
http://laserase.brinkster.net/
Due to the size and location of the tattoo it was a very protracted and painful process (half-an-hour per treatment). Due to the body's tolerance of the laser, the intensity needs to be "turned up" slightly each time you go to achieve greater effect. This was becoming extremely painful and I transferred, at enormous cost, to the Lister Hospital and renowned dermatologist Dr Marky:
LISTER HOSPITAL LONDON SW1
Head of Dept: Contact: Sister J Catonze SRN
Address: The Lister Hospital, Chelsea Bridge Road, London SW1W 8RH
Telephone: 020 7881 4066 Fax: 020 881 4048
Lasers: Pulsed Dye V-beam and Scleroplus, NdYAG, CO2, IPL, Alexandrite, Diolite
Treatments: Vascular & Pigmented Lesions, resistant Port Wine Stains, Tattoos, Skin Resurfacing, Hair Removal, leg veins.
General Anaesthesia: Yes
The lasers at the Lister Hospital are the most up-to-date and powerful and each treatment, although still somewhat painful, lasted only 10-15 minutes and I was given the option of anaesthetic gel to ease the discomfort.
I have no scarring and would recommend laser removal wholeheartedly. The pain is something you forget very quickly, and I was assured that the pain I underwent was pretty unusual due to my tattoo being so large and in a very sensitive skin location.
Hope this helps - PM me if you need any other info!
