Question:
how to do the natural look with make up?
I've tried just not wearing any but then I look pale pasty and spotty looool
I want a certain amount of make up on my face to cover the blemishes but would love to look all natural and glowy.
do you need eye makeup too??
I think the trick is to play up what you already have and work with your natural colouring.
Get a couple of good eyeshadows...one buff coloured one that disappears onto your skin - this helps eyelids stay looking perfect! Then a slightly darker but still neutral one, say a light mushroom, and sweep this into the crease so you can't actually see it but your eyes seem to stand out more! :)
If you have lighter features use a brown eyeliner, and if you are darker use a black one, and smudge it in really well. Then a bit of mascara, subtle eyebrow pencil and a smudge of highlighter under your browbone (I like benefit mr frosty but any highlighter/white shadow will do)
Depending on your colouring pick either blusher or bronzer to wake your complexion up. If you're rosy then a light pink blusher will look better and if you're more golden-y then a light bronzer.
And a nice lipbalm!
That's what I do anyway...!
I love the natural look. I simply think people look better when they don't (or at least don't LOOK like) they have make-up on. (Unless its a night out or something). But during the day I wish I could pull off the 'just walked along the beach' fresh faced look. Unfortunately I can't seem to get out of the foundation/clogged-up-skin vicious cycle so I'm trying to wean myself off by only using a very sheer foundation when I HAVE to.
More recently I'm experimenting going without foundation and just wearing skin flash concealer around my eyes and over any redness (say, around the nose and chin), a thicker concealer (mac) over any blemishes and some dandelion powder which I kind of dust over my cheeks and eye lids or wherever the sun would naturally hit my face.
I have my eyelashes tinted so don't wear mascara and I've gone off eye shadows and eye liner recently. I feel like spring is about looking clean and fresh and being very fair skinned any colour around the eyes looks dressy no matter how much I try to tone it down. I also like the fact that this means I do less damage to the skin around my eyes (ie putting on and taking off stubborn eye makeup) thus hopefully less wrinkles further down the line!
