Question:
taken the plunge!
i've just bought the dove 'glow' self tan (fair skin) :yay:
i am a total newbie at this so a few questions!...
in between stages, (ie after legs, before body!) is it a good idea to wash hands to try and prevent build up on them, or do you use gloves?
is it ok to do it in the evening and then have a shower in the morning?
How long do you have to stay still to let it dry!?
to avoid streaks, is it best to get it on as quick as possible, or thoroughly rub it in in circles?
ok, if it does go wrong do i jump in the shower next morning and just start exfoliating?
hopefully it will build up slowly to allow more leeway for anything going wrong! as i've said, i've never done this before so slightly nervous!
I think i will do it when i come back from holiday so it looks natural rather than out of the blue! but I'll let you know how it goes
thanks in advance!

Don't know about the dove stuff, but I used the Johnsons holiday skin for the first time last night.
I exfoliated before hand, and just used it like normal body lotion, (I uesd it on my face too) didn't hang around waiting for it to dry or owt, just put my pj's on, and washed my hands after I had done my whole self.
I don't much like the smell of it but I can notice a slight glow all over, havn't noticed any streaks or anything, there's no dramatic colour difference, as you gradually build up the colour daily.
If I were you Luna I wouldn't worry, nothing too disasterous will happen, it's only a very faint tan and I think you could try it now rather than when you get back from holiday.
My tips would be to:
- shower and exfoliate (but don't shave!)
- moisturise and allow to sink in
- apply fake tan rubbing it in as much as you can until it's all sunk in - circular movements are good, yes.
- use a damp towel to wipe down insides of arms (or I sometimes apply the fake tan diluted with moisturiser to this area) and backs of ankles
- wash hands THOROUGHLY - I wouldn't bother doing this in between stages and is takes a while to start working anyway
- leave to dry for as long as you possibly can
- Yep - you'll want to shower in the morning as IMO all fake tans have a dodgy smell!

I agree with emsie and Pandorasboxes
Definitely wash hands as much as possible to avoid it staining them.
I've not used Dove Glow before, but have used Johnsons Holiday skin, and it was fine to shower the next day, so no problems there.
Can't really add anything useful, as Emsie and Pandorasboxes have said it all :D
thanks ladies!
feel a lot better now - I had horrible visions of bright orange streaky skin!!
