MAC make up brushes
Question:

MAC make up brushes
My lovely hubby bought me some MAC brushes as part of my mothers day present, but I just found the reciept and am horrified and want to return them.
I commented the other week that I need new ones, I have a £15 set from Sephora which are fine but getting old. Obviously as there are no Sephoras in the UK now he couldnt replace them so instead went to the beauty counter and the girl gave him 3 basics to start me off.
Foundation Brush ( which I dont use)
Blusher brush & eyeshadow blender.
I just looked on ebay and they do mac travel brushes and cases for £50 which seem cute and much better value. I dont care that they are travel size.
Can anyone else recommend a good set of brushes which dont cost the earth.
Thanks x

Hi Jorden,
I got a set of 4 MAC Brushes (1 x lip, 1 x eyeshadow, 1 x other kinda eyeshadow, and 1 x blusher) from a Canadian eBay seller, all for £20 something (maybe £22) I can give you her seller name if you're interested?

I shop around for my brushes. I have a slant eyeliner from Ruby & Millie, a skunk (187) brush from MAC for powder, an Avon £5 brush for blusher, a Body Shop eyeshadow brush... the list goes on.
I've tried different brushes from different makes & it's pretty much hit or miss. My fave foundation brush is a Prescriptives one, but a close second to that comes my M&S version which only cost £8 (M&S have a good range at the mo & they're very reasonably priced), but my £9 Body Shop version is awful.
Shop around & have a play. I'm sure you'll find some good brushes to suit you within your budget. If you do keep one MAC, though, take a look at the skunk - it's great for blending all types of powder from mineral to pressed & gives a lovely flawless finish.

I bought some MAC brushes when I was in the States last year as they are much cheaper there but I have to say I don't particularly rate them not to mention the fact that they flake like mad! Definitely do not think they are worth the money! Find a cheaper good quality set. I have heard that Ruby and Mille and TBS brushes are good value and quality although not tried them myself. I used to use some M&S ones which were good but also flake like crazy! I really thought I wouldn't have that problem with MAC but obviously not.
