Question:
depo injection/skin!
hi, im not sure this is the right place to put this thread but i know alot of people on here have tried antibiotics for their skin so its a good place to start!
im going into my third year on the depo injection and last time i went to the clinic they sed i need to start thinking about coming off it soon as they dnt advise u to be on it too long. i guess this means im going to av to go on the pill. anyway whilst having the injection iv also been on 3 different antibiotics for my skin, that havent really worked.(im on oxytetracyclin at the moment which is wrking better than the others atleast!)
anyway everytime iv been to the doctors he suggests dionette and other combi pills that i cud take that wud sort skin as well as period, then i tel him im on the injection, he gives a disapproving look, and prescribes yet another antibiotic as i cant have both at same time!so im thinking if i stop the injection now (im due a new one this week)does anyone know if i have to have some sort of break before i can start the pill, hopefully dianette or one similar?and has anyone had any experiences of dianette or pills that do the same, ie work on skin aswell?
also can they prescribe it at the clinic(its brooks, and i know they have it there ya c?)or do u think i wud av to go to my docs first?sorry such a long thread but i know how good u all are at giving advice!!:)

Can't help specifically but just be wary of dianette, especially if you have any family history of depression. I went on it for my skin when I was 16 and I'd never felt so low, it was awful :(
Having said that many people get on fine with it. Just something to consider as my doctor didn't warn me. I'm now on Loestrin which is a much lower dose than dianette and I get on fine with it :)
hya thanks for the advice, i am definately going to take note of this as i spoke to a doctor at the clinic and she prescribed this for me, said it wud b much better than all the antibiotics iv been over years, so im just hopin shes right. but im definately gona look out for any mood changes as iv read loads of reviews about people becoming alot more emotional whilst on it!can i just ask, even tho it had this effect on u did it help clear your skin or did u just need it as a contaceptive?
if anyone has any experience with dianette pls let me no!xx
