Does anything actually work for those under-the-skin spots??

You mean the big painful buggers or the little reaction spots?
If it's the former, I think maybe tea tree/lavender might help it go quicker if you persist with it. Other than that, there's the old ice cube trick...?
For smaller spots, cut down excessive products and have a good scrub.
For red, under-the-skin lumps, Freederm (relatively new to the market) is the best thing I've found, by a long way. Not too effective on pimply spots though.

under the skin - use toothpaste, dries them up nicely, just remember to wash it off before you answer the door in the morning! :o :rolleyes:
I second Freederm. :) It's the only thing that stops these kinds of spots getting huge! :lol:
