Question:
what's the best nail varnish range?
nail varnish never ever lasts even an hour on my hands before it all chips off or ruins my nails - any recommendations for a range that actually stays put and is none too damaging at the same time?
I don't often wear nail varnish & if I do, it's whatever I've got to hand so I don't really know the best brand but I've heard a lot of people say that OPI nail varnishes are really good. Apparently the actresses on The O.C. all wear them. :)
BTW have you ever tried putting a top coat of clear nail varnish on to stop it from chipping so much? Mine used to chip all the time (when i went through a stage of wearing nail polish all the time) & the only thing that stopped it from doing this was a coat of clear varnish over the top. :)

A top coat is most definitely a good idea - it really does help keep the varnish on - a base coat is a good idea too.
I find that Chanel and Armani nail varnishes last a lot longer on me than most other ranges, but they're quite pricy.

OPI big yes. Nail vanish takes a good 30 minuites to dry,if you nails are greasy or soap won't stay on and yes a top coat is needed.
I like Chanel and OPI nail varnishes. I wear base and top coats with all brands of nail varnish, as these prevent staining and help the nail varnish to last longer. I apply thin coats of nail varnish, and let each layer dry thoroughly before applying the next (I have found that if I want the nail varnish to last well, then I can't rush the application).
